Just a test
Just a test
August 31, 2010 by TimGElinchrom you make me sad
August 30, 2010 by TimGHi everyone, no photo today, just me a little upset. I ordered and got in the mail today my Skyport universal/transmitter receiver kit. I was happy as can be. Well up until the point I realized it didn’t come with a sync cable for my hotshoe flash. Yes I was a bit miffed about it, but the again the more I thought about it why would they want to promote its usage with a hot shoe flash. I mean seriously they make excellent strobes so why wouldn’t I buy one of those. Oh yeah I know it is WAY out of my price range. Though I have considered purchasing a Ranger RX or Quadra set. I suppose I’ll need to save up some money for that, on account that stuff is WAY expensive for a budget photographer. I suppose this whole photography thing has always been pretty expensive. But we all knew that, right?
Changing things up
August 27, 2010 by TimGHi everyone, I’m sure you’ve ALL been wondering what we’ve been up to here at good old TiNi Images.
Actually we’ve been pretty busy and have decided to try adding to our collection of works. We recently had a chance to work with someone who was gracious enough to let us take her picture. One of the first things we want to say is that the entire shoot was done with minimal amount of photo gear.
- Nikon D300 w/MB-D10 battery back
- Nikon 18-200mm 3.4 len w/hood
- Lastolite 24″x24″ Ezybox hotshoe softbox
- Nikon SB-800 Speedlight (used in the softbox)
- SD-8A Speedlight battery pack
Ya see…not so much stuff.
Until next time,

The Safari Truck
August 14, 2010 by TimGHi everyone, its been awhile since we’ve posted. Mostly because I’ve been working on a side project and I’m not sure if its something we will be posting here. However, while working on this side project we came across this Photoshop plugin called Topaz Adjust. WOW, this thing is way slick. I’ll save you all the technical speak, take a look the image below. It will give you a sense of what it can do. Oh and yeah, that is an African Safari looking truck. We were at a place called – well “Out of Africa Safari” its a pretty cool place at Camp Verde, AZ. Anyways check out Topaz Labs, I mean that’s why I’m actually writing this post.

The Ghost town of Jerome, AZ
July 18, 2010 by TimGHi Everyone!
Well as stated in a prior post there is much more in Arizona than the Grand Canyon, take Jerome, AZ. Its supposed to be a Ghost town, one of the largest actually. To read up more on Jerome check out the Jerome website. This image was captured just as you enter the the town itself. It kind of gives you an idea of what to expect, just don’t be expecting a ghost town. Well at least not in the literal sense. Jerome happens to be a town that reemerged as a community in what was a copper mining town that was almost forgotten. Its a really neat place I suppose I could have spent a lot more time in Jerome. I suspect there are a lot of hidden treasures that I didn’t get to see. Hopefully I will get a chance to go back there someday. In the mean time check out our Jerome gallery.

Mile High
July 18, 2010 by TimGTook this image in Jerome, AZ. The city itself like Denver is just over a mile high. I sorta thought the Mile High sign with the couple standing underneath interesting. Even more so with the passerby with that sort of “what the heck are those people doing look” going on.

Grand Canyon Perch
July 16, 2010 by TimGOne of the coolest things about being a photographer is seeing the look on people’s faces when they see your images and it creates a reaction in them. It doesn’t always have to be a positive reaction, almost any reaction will do. Sometimes they will look at an image and criticize it for its technical details, or flaws. Take this one for example, the horizon is crooked. Yes I could have fixed it in Photoshop or Lightroom, but I opted not to. The horizon on this particular image is crooked because of where I was standing, or rather I should say perched. To make it simple I was probably someplace most people would not have ventured to take a photo. Not saying that makes me a better photographer, or that this is even a good image. Part of why photographers shoot, is to bring moments to life. To help the viewer see and feel what the photographer saw, or perhaps the image the photographer is trying to convey. For this one, well its just a selfish image really. I didn’t fix the horizon because I wanted to remember that little place I was perched to take this image.

Grand Canyon Snake
July 15, 2010 by TimGYeah I know what you’re thinking, what WAS I THINKING right? I probably shouldn’t have gotten that close to the snake, but heck a bunch of kids were running around taking pictures of it. I had to, too, right?

More in Arizona than the Grand Canyon
July 15, 2010 by TimGHi everyone,
Well – Made it back from the Arizona, I have to admit Arizona is a pretty cool place all in all. When I was researching our trip to Arizona I truly had no clue of all the different things that there is to see and do Arizona. But you will have to just wait till I finish with some post processing of the images before I tell you what all those things are. In the mean time here is a little something to hopefully keep you interested.
